Doctor Kelly C. Palomo, PT, DPT | Doctor of Physical Therapy​

 

 

Doctor Kelly C. Palomo, PT, DPT has been practicing physical therapy since graduating from Touro College of Health Professions with her doctorate degree where she was honored with the Outstanding Clinician award in 2006.  She has worked at New York Presbyterian Hospital- Weill Cornell, specializing in trauma and orthopedics immediately following surgical intervention.  

Dr. Palomo transitioned to the outpatient setting for a desire to care for her patients in a more long-term setting than acute care could provide.  She believes in the cohesive, team approach to rehabilitation and healing which Speonk Physical Therapy provides. She enjoys treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions including low back and neck pain, shoulder, knee and pelvic girdle dysfunctions as well as podiatric conditions.  

She has also been a clinical instructor to physical therapy students from many different schools.  Kelly understands that medical education is an ongoing process and, as such, participates in continued education courses online and plans on becoming a certified manual therapist in the future. A recreational athlete herself, she enjoys treating acute injuries and prides herself on healing and educating others.  

Dr. Palomo resides locally with her husband Erick, her children Luke and Scarlett and rescued dog, Hazel.

Craig A. Banger, PT, DPT | Doctor of Physical Therapy​

 

Doctor Banger has been in private practice for 24 years.  He received his masters in Physical Therapy from New York Medical College in 1999, then completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2006.  In his spare time Craig enjoys running, cycling and going to the gym.

Denis Wurtz, PTA | Physical Therapist Assistant

 

 

Denis received his Associates in Applied Science degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Suffolk County Community College,Phi Theta Kappa. Denis also has an Associates of Science degree in Accounting from Nassau Community College and a Bachelors of Business Administration in Personnel Management from St. John’s University.  He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association.  

In 2009, Denis returned to Suffolk County Community College to work as a Professional Assistant in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program conducting a skills practice class to help students become proficient as physical therapist assistants. Denis is a member of the Physical Therapist Assistant Advisory Board at the college. He is also a clinical instructor for the program.  

Denis’ experience as a physical therapist assistant includes hospital inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine and skilled nursing home/ geriatric care. He has taken continuing education pertaining to joint mobilization, kinesio taping, cervical and upper extremity dysfunction, foot orthodics and therapeutic massage.  He is also received certification as an Arthritis Foundation/ YMCA Aquatic instructor.

He has volunteered as a Boys Scout Leader and committee member for over 15 years.
